RESEARCH: This group's research activity deals with industrial automation, with a particular focus on the steelmaking industry. The group leader Valentina Colla researches on process automation and process control techniques as well as application of statistics and artificial intelligence techniques for data analysis, process simulation, monitoring and control, in the perspective of the development of intelligent manufacturing systems. The group is also developing research work in the field of mathematical modelling of industrial process (holistic modelling included).
